Good luck to Gen X + (30+) developing a career in photography.  If you are found by expressing your heartfelt dreams, take it but be prepared! The way the world works these days can be so disconcerting - be creative and believe you have something to offer. Build your strength with people you trust.

Don't make money your main motive like everyone else! Believe in what you do.
Think altruistic.. 

My wife (Kerrie) and I are garden makers.  We open our garden to the public for the National Garden Scheme (NGS) for charity once a year to raise money for local and national Cancer charities,  we also provide talks to gardening groups/societies in our spare time.. Very rewarding
